Windstar Cruises has announced the debut of Star Pride
Royal Caribbean has acknowledged that passengers on the first sailing of Harmony of the Seas were affected by construction work that was still taking place. The cruise line released a statement “We recognize there were simply too many projects being completed during this sailing. We offer our apologies to customers who were affected.
“To have the opportunity to welcome them again, we are offering each guest a future cruise certificate worth 50 percent of the cruise fare paid.”
Child injured
Shortly after the Carnival Liberty sailed from the port in Galveston on Monday, a child was injured after falling down a flight of stairs. Posing for a family photograph, the child is said to have slipped through a rail, falling from the 14th deck to the 12th deck.
The ship returned to port and the child was transferred to the University of Texas Medical Branch for treatment, upon which the cruise ship continued on its itinerary.
A spokesperson for the cruise line said that the little girl was alert and stable when she was taken to the hospital.
Sushi Role
Whether it's a popular California roll or a more exotic sushi creation, Holland America Line's shipboard chefs are learning from the best in collaboration with Japanese born sushi chef Andy Matsuda.
Matsuda will train the shipboard chefs in the latest sushi trends and techniques. Four of his signature rolls will be featured on the dinner menu at Tamarind, the Asian-fusion restaurant on board several Holland America Line ships.
Upgrades for Star Pride
Windstar Cruises has announced the debut of Star Pride back into the six-yacht fleet after receiving a scheduled $4.5 million transformation. Two owner’s suites and a private deck over the bow received some enhancements as well as public spaces and dining venues.
The vessel can accommodate 212 passengers, and will be welcoming guests in time for the Mediterranean cruise season.
