Here you’ll find stunning blue waters, white-sand beaches, tropical jungles, archaeological sites, cenotes, underground rivers, islands, and lagoons, along with plenty of fascinating Mayan culture and history on display.
Stretching from northeastern tip of the Yucatán Peninsula all the way down to the northern border of Belize, Quintana Roo is home to vibrant Cancún, the beautiful Riveria Maya, and many more unforgettable destinations in between. Not to be missed is Cobá, one of the region’s most enigmatic cities and features the tallest pyramid in Quintana Roo, Nohoch Muul, plus the ancient Maya roads, called Sac-bé, that connect to far places such as Yaxuná, which is close to Chichén Itzá.
Quintana Roo also boasts some of the world's best snorkeling and diving and laid-back islands where people get around on golf carts. JAMAICA’S NATURAL VIBE
Perfect for adventure-seekers of all fitness levels, Jamaica offers the chance to go beyond the sandy beaches and striking scenery (of course, neither are in short supply) for exhilarating adventures you’ll always remember. An abundance of turquoise waters, lush green lands, and deep caverns excite thrill-seekers craving an adrenaline rush.
Fun for nearly all ages, Rainforest Bobsled Jamaica features a 3300-foot-long gravity-drive through the rainforest on custom designed, high-tech sleds. Accessible via the SkyExplorer, the Bobsled is a thrilling ride through dense tropical landscapes and coastal features on sleds that evoke the passion of Jamaica’s Olympic team.
Those with a taste for adventure should consider the seven-mile trek up Jamaica’s famous the Blue Mountain Peak. The peak is the highest on the island, rising to an altitude of 7,402 feet. In the darkness you’ll climb steadily for approximately four hours. This guided hike with flashlight in hand will find you amidst lush forests as you safely forge ahead for unparalleled views of the island.
Another of the country’s famous natural wonders is the Blue Hole, a breathtaking work of nature and a favorite of both locals and visitors. Best of all, it’s a crowd-pleaser that has not been privatized, meaning it’s free to access and you’ll only be paying for your guide who will help you learn more about it. It’s close enough to Ocho Rios and awe-inspiring enough for you to make this trip a priority when visiting Jamaica.
GORGEOUS BEACHES IN THE TURKS AND CAICOS ISLANDS
The Turks and Caicos consist of 40 different islands and cays, only nine of which are inhabited. This makes the archipelago quite diverse, also making it a great destination for return visits. From the main visitor center of Providenciales to the quiet and tranquil islands of North and Middle Caicos to the historic Capital of Grand Turk; each area offers a different experience and a unique character, but all offer a great year-round climate, beaches, and underwater activities.
Some of the most popular islands in the Turks and Caicos include Ambergris Cay, Parrot Cay, Pine Cay, Little Iguana, and Water Cay. Most of them are only about 10 to 25 minutes by air from Provo International Airport (PLS) and most can be reached by boat, too. There is also regular TCI ferry service from Providenciales to North Caicos and South Caicos.
No matter where you choose to stay, be sure to experience world-famous Grace Bay Beach. This stretch of coastline is powdered with white sand and is close enough to the reef wall to see the Atlantic breakers. Though it’s studded with hotels and resorts, its sheer size means that finding your own slice of paradise is a snap.
