GORGEOUS BEACHES IN THE TURKS AND CAICOS ISLANDS
The Turks and Caicos consist of 40 different islands and cays, only nine of which are inhabited. This makes the archipelago quite diverse, also making it a great destination for return visits. From the main visitor center of Providenciales to the quiet and tranquil islands of North and Middle Caicos to the historic Capital of Grand Turk; each area offers a different experience and a unique character, but all offer a great year-round climate, beaches, and underwater activities.
Some of the most popular islands in the Turks and Caicos include Ambergris Cay, Parrot Cay, Pine Cay, Little Iguana, and Water Cay. Most of them are only about 10 to 25 minutes by air from Provo International Airport (PLS) and most can be reached by boat, too. There is also regular TCI ferry service from Providenciales to North Caicos and South Caicos.
No matter where you choose to stay, be sure to experience world-famous Grace Bay Beach. This stretch of coastline is powdered with white sand and is close enough to the reef wall to see the Atlantic breakers. The 2010 census reported Puerto Vallarta's population as 255,725 making it the fifth largest city in the state of Jalisco, and the second largest urban agglomeration in the state after the Guadalajara Metropolitan Area. The City of Puerto Vallarta is the government seat of the Municipality of Puerto Vallarta which comprises the city as well as population centers outside of the city extending from Boca de Tomatlán to the Nayarit border (the Ameca River).
