Earlier this month Norwegian Cruise Line named the Norwegian Prima, the first of six 142,500-gross-ton ships that can accommodate 3,215 passengers, with double occupancy.
NCL’s Norwegian Prima ship has become the brand’s most in-demand ship in the company’s 54-year history, with record bookings.
The ship has broken the record for the most sales on the first day bookings were made available for its August 2022 itineraries. It also broke the company’s record for the best initial booking week in sales.
The Norwegian Prima is the first of six ships within NCL’s new Prima Class, which offers the most room categories at sea, more space per person and incredible new experiences like the Infinity Beach, which features infinity pools that overlook the ocean.
"Every aspect of Norwegian Prima, from bow-to-stern, was conceptualized with the guest in mind," said Norwegian Cruise Line's President and CEO Harry Sommer.
"With this world-class ship, we are providing our guests with more wide-open spaces, elevated service, thoughtful design and a variety of experiences that go beyond expectation. Our record-breaking sales are a clear indicator of our guests' excitement to return to the ocean and of the significant demand for a premium vacation experience."
In addition to having the largest variety of suite categories at sea, Norwegian Prima will also have The Haven by Norwegian on board, which is NCL's premium ship-within-a-ship concept. Guests with access to this section can enjoy an expansive sundeck, an infinity pool and an outdoor spa with a glass-walled sauna and cold room.
Sommer added that Norwegian Prima is quickly proving to be a gamechanger for the brand, even outpacing Norwegian Bliss.
"Norwegian Bliss, which debuted in 2018 and boasted our biggest booking day ever during her unveiling, has been outpaced by Norwegian Prima, which has doubled the prior record. In addition, nearly 20 percent of bookings are for our Haven suites, indicating the desire for top-of-the-line experiences," Sommer said.
Its first itinerary will depart from Amsterdam and travel through Norway and Iceland. Other itineraries for later on in the year include Scotland and Denmark as well as the Caribbean.
You will visit the following 4 places:
Norway
Norway is the westernmost, northernmost—and in fact the easternmost—of the three Scandinavian countries. Best known for the complex and deep fjords along its west coast which stretches from the North Sea near Denmark and Scotland into the Arctic Ocean and has borders with Finland, Sweden and the northwestern tip of Russia. Norway may have a clutch of attractive, cosmopolitan cities, appealing destinations in their own right, but where the country really shines is not in its urban culture, but rather in the low-key, amiable small-town feel that pervades throughout its settlements.
Denmark
Denmark is a Scandinavian country in Europe. The country consists of a peninsula, Jutland, and an archipelago of 443 named islands, of which around 70 are inhabited. The islands are characterised by flat, arable land and sandy coasts, low elevation and a temperate climate. Denmark is also the birthplace of one of the world's most popular toys, Lego. There is no other better place in the world where one can buy Lego bricks than at the Legoland theme park in Billund. Top it off with a rich, well-preserved cultural heritage, and the Danes legendary sense of design and architecture, and you have one intriguing holiday destination.
Scotland
Scotland is a country that is part of the United Kingdom. Occupying the northern third of the island of Great Britain, it shares a border with England to the south and is bounded by the North Sea to the east, the Atlantic Ocean to the north and west, and the North Channel and Irish Sea to the southwest. In addition to the mainland, Scotland includes over 790 islands including the Northern Isles and the Hebrides. Edinburgh, the country's capital and second largest city, is one of Europe's largest financial centers. Edinburgh was the hub of the Scottish Enlightenment of the 18th century, which transformed Scotland into one of the commercial, intellectual and industrial powerhouses of Europe. Glasgow, Scotland's largest city, was once one of the world's leading industrial cities and now lies at the centre of the Greater Glasgow conurbation. Scottish waters consist of a large sector of the North Atlantic and the North Sea, containing the largest oil reserves in the European Union. This has given Aberdeen, the third largest city in Scotland, the title of Europe's oil capital.
