New Brunswick

Moncton Whether you are just passing through, or spending a few days, Moncton has something to for everyone - from amazing natural attractions to historic sites. No visit is complete without a stop at the mind-boggling Magnetic Hill. Take your foot of the brakes and be amazed as your car starts to roll uphill. The Tidal Bore on the Petitcodiac River is another scenic phenomenon. Twice daily the high waters of the surging Fundy Bay cause the water in the placid Petitcodiac River to roll back upstream in one wave, which can range in height from 3 to 60 cm. Just as spectacular is the rapid and dramatic change in the river itself. At low tide the muddy river bottom is often visible, but within an hour of the arrival of the Bore, the water level rises some 7.5 metres (25 ft) to fill the river to its banks. Other attractions include the Capital Theatre. Restored to its former 1922 elegance, the Capital is one of only eight such theatres left in Canada. The Moncton Market is Atlantic Canada's most modern markets and offers fresh produce, baking, ethnic cuisine, and crafts.
