“Marvelous Memories...”
Wonderful surprise! Great beach, nice hotel, superb staff, it's all here!
The strong points Beach, hotel layout, staff. The weak points Internet access, shows (probably because it's shoulder season), rain.

“Amazing Beach, Unamazing Resort”
Four and a half stars is a misnomer for this resort. The food was edible, but not more than that. The rooms were livable, but not more than that. You were fortunate if you had 2 plugs that worked, let alone a working t.v. However, the beach is superb -- walk out long was in the softest sand there is. No rocks and very minimal seaweed. Wet time of year with lots of mosquitos, but that was due to our timing, not the resort. Service was acceptable. Resort is tired and slightly run down. Relax Pool was amazing and no one in it.
The strong points Beach and pools are amazing. The weak points Entertainment only started at 10:00 pm which was too late. Resort is tired and food is dull.

“The most beautiful beaches!”
It's a beautiful hotel, a little run down (torn seat cushions, toilets with no seat or broken bathroom door locks) far from the worst, but not the best for cleanliness. Not much change in food variety at the buffets. Serving staff not very attentive (more than once I cleared off my own dirty dishes & filled my water glass) Good entertainment both day fun & activities at the pool, as well as shows in the theatre in the evenings. Highly recommend for its beautiful, white sand & turquoise water beaches.
The strong points Beaches Are Amazing. Great selection of drinks. Landscape well kept. Some friendly staff. Good entertainment & pool amenities. The weak points Same food daily at buffet. 3 days of bad odour in dining room. Dirty & broken down bathrooms. Staff expecting tips & not providing great service. Staff warned a coworker I was traveling with Spanish speaking friend, to be careful what he said.

“Memories Cayo Santa Maria”
This resort was a pleasant surprise!I booked it mainly because of the price. Our room was spacious and clean and we even had washcloths!!(not all rooms had them though in talking with other guests) Having been warned about the food in Cuba, I was not expecting much but there was always lots to choose from but often the same thing each day. Bring your large reuseable cup from home for drinks-you will be glad you did! Don't expect cold drinks either- orange juice and water served in restaurants were always room temperature. At times no ice available at the bars either. The beach is beautiful there and the highlight. Don't expect to see much culture there as this is on an island that is not inhabited by locals. If you go, you go for relaxation! Entertainment was okay, nothing special. Beach towels were in your room on arrival but if you wanted clean ones, you needed to be at the center at the right time or you were out of luck! It is a large resort so if you have mobility issues it could be a challenge for you. Alot of walking required! For those travelling with young children, they have a kids program. Overall, we had a great time and would consider going back on our next vacation when we want to do nothing but enjoy the weather and the beautiful beach ( or pool as they had several and were all very clean but I am a beach person)
The strong points Overall, a lovely resort. The beach is the highlight for sure! The staff were all very friendly and aim to please! The weak points Alot of walking to get to things;difficult for people with mobility issues;they do have golf carts that you can request a ride. One side of the resort is flater than the other-request Paraiso side

“Not a 4 star”
We went without water for 3 days and it was intermittent on the other days, Shower pressure was hit and miss. Food - the food was very repetitious, hot food was often cold, cold food was warm, burgers and meat were often burnt on the outside and raw in the middle.Plates were often dirty and we had to sift through the stack to find clean ones. There were flies everywhere, on us and in our drinks and food. We typically don't complain and understand the differences in other countries, cultural and availability of services, food, etc. We have stayed at other Memories resorts and had no complaints. We felt that this resort was not set up well to deal with the approximately 3000 visitors it hosted.
The strong points The beach was amazing. Our room was nice with a wonderful ocean view (room 6175). The maids provided excellent service. The pool was well looked after. A la Ca rtes were very good for the most part. The weak points Major water issues, Food was repetitious, hot food was cold, cold food wasn't kept cold, meat was burnt on the outside, raw in the middle, drink service was very slow, flies everywhere!

“Memories Paraiso April 6 - 13, 2015”
This was our fourth trip to Cuba. We got what we paid for. Likely a 3.5* - 4*due to the food / restaurants.
The strong points Staff were friendly. Weather and beach and pool were fine. No fish but great for a long walk or run. The catamaran excursion was great! Breakfast is fine but get in early to enjoy fresh food in a quiet environment. The weak points In reality, the resort is about 1 hour 45 minutes from the airport. Nice drive in the daylight but still a long trip. Big resort so lots of guests. Food is hit and miss..in my opinion a miss compared to the other resorts we have stayed at in the past.

“Cayo santa maria”
As a group of six people we were all very happy overall. The beach was excellent except for a lack of good snorkelling. The mediterian restaurant was by far the best a la carte we tried. We would give it an overall rating of 4 out of 5.
The strong points The beach. The rooms were very clean. The little shopping area, village was only minutes by foot and very good. The weak points Not many public washrooms and the few there were, not very clean.
