California is divided into two

areas, north and south. Southern California is desert like but with several very big cities and quite a few other of considerable size. Northern California is more forested and less populated. The main city is San Francisco. California is connected on the southeast to Arizona.

Canadian citizens travelling by air to, though, or from the U.S must present one of the following documents.

Canadian citizen don’t require a visa to enter the U.S directly from Canada for the purpose of visiting or studying.

GETTING AROUND:

Los Angeles is one of the easiest cities to reach by air. Most fly into Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), however Burbank Airport (BUR) appeals to travellers who prefer a less crowded alternative to LAX. For those who visit Disneyland John Wayne Airport (SNA) is more appropriate.

Car Rentals: Los Angeles is one of the cheapest places in America to rent a car. The major national car rental companies usually rent economy and compact class cars for about $40 per day.

Rail or Subway

Metro Red Line: LA’s first subway opened a highly publicized Hollywood Universal City. The line starts at Union Station which is the city’s main train depot, and travels west underneath Wilshire Boulevard looping north into Hollywood.

Metro Blue Line: Aboveground rail line, connected in Downtown LA with Long Beach.

Metro Purple: Subway starts at Union Station, shares six stations with the red line downtown and continues to the Mid Wilshire area

Metro Green Line: Runes for 20 miles along the centre of I-105, the Glenn Anderson Freeway and connects Norwalk in eastern LA to LAX and Redondo Beach. A connection with the blue line offers visitors access from LAX to downtown LA or Long Beach.

Metro Gold Line: 14 miles link between Pasadena and Union Station in Downtown LA.
