Generations Riviera Maya
About Riviera Maya, Mexico
Generations Riviera Maya, Welcome to the quintessential family resort – the All Suite, All Butler, All Gourmet Generations Riviera Maya.
Generations Riviera Maya is well named. It is a new generation resort and perfect for all the generations who like to vacation together. Great Grandma, Grandpa, Mom and Dad and all the kids will have a great time, and with three bedroom suites and layouts for up to 12 guests, there is lots of room.
Your clients will likely be intrigued when they see the pictures of the very contemporary resort, and the three floors of swim out pools will catch their eye immediately.
The lobby is at the entrance to the property and then you are taken by golf cart to the buildings where the rooms and butler lounge are located. No fruity rum punch in this property, the choice will be either a glass of champagne, or a smoothie.
All suites have an ocean view, and the corridors leading to the suites have a view of the Mangroves. I don’t think I’ve ever seen so many people standing in the corridor looking out, and taking pictures. One man told me he’d seen two alligators.
The 144 suites are very spacious. Our suite had a living room, full kitchen, bedroom with a comfy king size bed, and a heated bathroom floor. We loved it. There was an outdoor and an indoor shower. We also had an infinity pool, so we could lie in our pool and watch the swimmers in the big pool. The folks that had kids found the infinity pool a huge hit. Little ones can be in the pool first thing in the morning, and while the baby is napping, Mom can have a dip and still be able to hear the little one. There is Butler Service, including at the beach and pool. The art and sculptures around the property were just plain gorgeous, they added to the sophisticated feel of the resort.
We always go check out the pool when we arrive, and the pool here is huge. As usual there were people gathered around the swim-up bar chatting. We talked to a man who was down to do the final arrangements for his daughter’s wedding.
“I own hotels in the US he said. I’ve been down to the Mayan three times to select the best resort for the wedding, and this is it.” There will be 90 guests.
After our swim, it was time to eat, and oh my, at the Chef Market Grand Café & Deck the food was wonderful and fresh. It was unlike any “buffet” I’ve ever been to in an all-inclusive; beautifully displayed and not huge mounds of food. The dishes were quite unique, and the staff serving the food was most attentive. We liked it so much we always went back for lunch. We loved the Wine Kitchen - it was outstanding.
The food everywhere was excellent. If you have have big appetites order more than one entre. Generations Riviera Maya is part of Signature Vacations’ Culinary Collection, and deserves the privilege. The wine tastings were good fun and we actually learned something.
There are of course complaints about the seaweed as there is all along the coast, but guests admired the great work the staff were doing getting rid of it.
A hotel manager said, “The hotel has created artificial reefs along their coastline, and this has helped restore the natural balance to our reef systems, which has been lost due to human activities and natural disasters. With geo textiles, a submerged wave breaker has been formed, without affecting the landscape, which controls beach erosion protecting our shores from high tides and strong undertows, encourages the attraction and repopulation of fish providing a great snorkelling experience for our guests. We have been praised for our continued efforts concerning our great environmental and sustainability program ‘we are going green.’”
One guest said “ The artificial reef is bringing in a lot of new sea life; great to snorkel!
The kids club is amazing. The little Eko Chefs programme gives kids a chance to be creative in the kitchen…. and they have their own pint sized kitchen just their size.
They learn the eco-friendly food basics at “hand’s-on cooking classes every day from 3-4pm. They also get to go to the greenhouse to harvest. The kid’s club is open from 9-5 and 7:30-11pm., great for parents who want to dine at El Dorado Casitas Royale, or El Dorado Royale, both adults only and next door.
Teens aren’t forgotten. They have a great hang out, where they can eat and relax. We watched a lively teen beach volleyball game that attracted everyone around the pool.
Babies are not forgotten either, the resort provides cribs, strollers, baby bottle warmers, sterilizers, baby food, bath monitors, changing tables with bathtubs, and adorable baby bath robes. There’s a shaded baby lounge where parents can play with the tiny tots.
Yes, of course there is a spa, and fitness facilities.
A great addition to the Karisma family.
