Images of gauchos, the tango, and the world’s thickest steaks, first come to mind when considering the land known as Argentina. Of course, the country’s attractions are far more numerous, from its subtropical north to its sub-Antarctic southern tip.

The ‘Paris of South America’, Buenos Aires is the cosmopolitan center where lovers of the arts can enjoy its numerous museums, a show at the renowned Teatro Colon, and of course a tango dinner-show is almost expected. At the foothills of the Andes, Mendoza is in the heart of the wine country. Be prepared to eat well while indulging in some of the best Vinos around. Mendoza also attracts the world’s best climbers looking to take on South America’s highest peak, Aconcagua, and also offers white water rafting and horseback riding.

Gateway to the Lake District, Bariloche offers scenery reminiscent of the Alps, while offering the avid outdoorsman plenty to do from, hiking, skiing, fishing, biking, sailing and more. Bariloche also serves as the eastern point of lake crossings to Chile thru the southern lakes.

Encompassing the southern half of the country your inner explorer will be set free in the Patagonia. El Calafate offers an ideal staging area to visit Los Glaciers National Park, with over a dozen glaciers. Hikers can access El Chalten and the majestic Mt. Fitz Roy for adventure & trekking. Or, head west to the Chilean Patagonia and Torres Del Paine National Park. On the coast visit Puerto Madryn, Punta Tombo & Peninsula Valdes, home to the Magellan penguins, sea lions and whale watching.

The Southernmost city in the world, Ushuaia in Tierra del Fuego. A picturesque city by the sea inviting hikers, climbers, and even skiers. It also serves as a launch point for expedition cruises to the fjords of Chile, the Strait of Magellan, and most notably the southernmost continent, Antarctica.
