Crystal’s Cruise first river cruise ship
A terminal in Port Canaveral was evacuated last weekend when a suspicious package was reported to the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office. The US Coast Guard set a security zone around the port and sent a robot in to investigate the package. It was determined that the package contained a can of hair spray that had leaked. Visitors were allowed back into the terminal.
Tragedy in cruise ship pool
An 8 year-old boy who was found unresponsive in the pool of Royal Caribbean’s Anthem of the Seas on June 30 died two days later. It is reported that the child had been in the water for eight to ten minutes before he was treated by the medical team on the ship and then rushed to Staten Island University hospital where a medical examiner stated that a “seizure disorder” was also a contributing factor to the boy’s death.

Crystal Cruises first endeavor into the river cruise industry was christened July 11 in Vienna. Crystal Mozart’s homeport will be at Millennium Pier, and she will be the first of seven riverboats planned by the luxury cruise line. Godmother Elisabeth Gurtler is the managing director of Vienna's famed Hotel Sacher, as well as acting director of the historic Spanish Riding School. She proclaimed the ship as Crystal Mozart upon which a mechanical arm smashed champagne against the ship. For those keeping track, it was a bottle of Sonderedition Adele, Szigeti Blanc de Blancs Brute 2011.
China by land and sea
Victoria and Asian Vistas are offering a 12-day Yangtze River Voyage by Private Car providing an experience in China's cities on land and sea. The 12-day voyage features a four-day Yangtze River cruise from Chongqing to Yichang, exploring China's scenic Shibaozhai, the Three Gorges Dam and one of the Yagntze's tranquil tributaries via traditional Chinese sampan (excursions may be substituted based on river conditions and scheduling factors).
Additional cities included are Beijing, Xi'an and Shanghai, where patrons will tour some of China's most notable national treasures including the Great Wall, the Terra Cotta Warrior exhibit and the Jade Buddha Temple.

Viking launched its first ocean ship, Viking Star in April 2015, and its second ocean ship, Viking Sea this spring.
Crystal Cruises, has held the title in the #1 Ocean Cruise Line category for 20 years in a row.
