Although it may not feel like the world is open to travel, there are actually dozens of international destinations ready to welcome you this winter. In many cases, travelers will need to complete a health form and present proof of a negative COVID-19 test result to gain entry but requirements vary based on the country. Here are 20 places open to citizens right now.
Antigua and Barbuda
One of several coveted Caribbean destinations open to travelers this holiday season, entry to Antigua and Barbuda requires a negative COVID-19 RT-PCR (real-time polymerase chain reaction) test result taken within seven days of the traveler's (age 12 and up) flight. Visitors will be monitored for COVID-19 for periods of up to 14 days and may be required to undergo additional testing on arrival or at their hotel.

Aruba
Visitors to Aruba must complete the online Embarkation/Disembarkation card process, which includes the following five components: Basic Traveler Information; Personal Health Assessment; Negative Molecular COVID-19 Test Result; Mandatory Aruba Visitors Insurance and Compliance with Government Mandates.

Anguilla
U.S. travelers must submit a negative Covid-19 test result obtained three to five days prior to arrival and proof of travel insurance covering Covid-19-related treatment through Anguilla’s visitor portal. Applications are considered on a case-by-case basis. Visitors will be given a PCR test on arrival, with a second test on day 14. Visitors must stay in place until a negative result is obtained.
Update: Revised fees for entry procedures and protocols start at $500 per couple. Families pay $300 for the main applicant and $250 per additional member. Fees cover two tests per person, surveillance, public health and costs for the additional public health presence and a digital work permit.

The Bahamas
Travelers are required to submit a Bahamas health travel visa and a negative PCR test taken five days prior to arrival and take a COVID-19 rapid antigen test on day five of their visit. Visitors must also complete a daily health questionnaire during their stay. Visitors may travel beyond their accommodations after the day five test is returned with a negative result.
Update: Bahamas travelers are required to opt in to COVID-19 health insurance designed to cover their stay in the territory. Insurance costs are included in the health visa application fee.

Barbados
Incoming travelers must complete an online immigration and customs form 24 hours prior to arrival and submit proof of a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours of arrival. Travelers must quarantine at an approved hotel villa or guesthouse. A second PCR test is required on day two or day three after arrival with results obtained 24 hours later. Travelers are not permitted to leave their accommodations or go to the beach until they receive the negative result of the second PCR test.
Update: Barbados’ government has partnered with Stage Zero Life Sciences to provide an “end-to-end” COVID-19 testing process designed to enable travelers to provide approved test results within the three-day window the country requires for entry.

Belize
Canadian citizens can also vacation in Belize right now. However, they'll be required to submit a negative COVID-19 test taken no more than 72 hours prior to departure and download the Belize Health application on their mobile device to complete the necessary health forms. If their test result is older than three days, travelers can take a rapid test at the airport at a cost of $50 per passenger.

Bermuda
Travelers must complete an online Bermuda travel authorization process within 48 hours of departure. Visitors age 10 and up must submit proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken no more than seven days before departure. Visitors must take a COVID-19 test upon arrival and quarantine in a hotel room until results are obtained (usually six to eight hours). Tests also are required on day four, eight and 14 of their trip at pop-up testing centers. Information is at. Updated Oct. 27.

British Virgin Islands
Travelers are required to register via BVI’s online portal at least 48 hours prior to departure, obtain the traveler authorization certificate and submit proof of a negative PCR test taken within three days of departure and medical insurance including COVID-19 coverage. Visitors will have a health screening, take a PCR test and download a contact tracing app upon arrival at the welcome center at Terrance Lettsome airport. Visitors will quarantine for four days at certified accommodations, followed by another PCR test. Guests who test negative may visit designated locations.
Update: B.V.I. borders open to U.S. travelers on Dec. 1.

Cayman Islands
The territory remains closed to U.S. visitors. Although a date for the return of U.S. travelers has not been announced, reopening will occur in phases and all travelers must register via the Cayman Islands’ online portal to receive pre-travel authorization.
Update: The Cayman Islands is testing a health monitoring device to monitor visitors for early COVID-19 symptoms, which may be used when borders reopen to US travelers.

Curacao
The southern Caribbean nation will reopen to New York, New Jersey and Connecticut residents in November. Travelers from the three states must present and upload proof of a negative PCR test and obtain a digital immigration card via Curacao’s online entry portal within 72 hours of traveling. A passenger locator card must also be uploaded within 48 hours of departure; visitors must present a state-issued ID upon arrival.
Update: A monitoring system run by the island's public health office includes personalized phone calls to all incoming visitors during their time in Curacao. Updated Oct. 12.

Costa Rica
Costa Rica recently eliminated RT-PCR testing requirements but still mandates that travelers complete the digital HEALTH PASS form and purchase travel insurance that covers medical expenses due to COVID-19 illness as well as accommodations for potential quarantine.
Dominican Republic
Entry process: Travelers are required to complete an online health affidavit and take a temperature check upon arrival. A rapid COVID-19 PCR test will be performed on randomly selected travelers. If positive, the traveler quarantines in a designated area within his hotel and is regularly tested until symptoms are gone.
Update: The government's Plan for the Responsible Recovery of Tourism includes free health and travel insurance coverage through December 31 and covers hospitalization for coronavirus in the Dominican Republic, telemedicine services, costs for extended hotel stays and airline ticket changes.

Dubai, United Arab Emirates
Canadians are eligible to visit Dubai this winter with proof of a negative COVID-19 test result taken up to 96 hours prior to travel and medical travel insurance. Meanwhile, travelers flying Emirates will automatically receive free global coverage for COVID-19 health expenses and quarantine costs through December 31, 2020.
Egypt
Egypt is allowing Canadians to visit if they're able to provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours before arrival. Keep in mind that the test result must be a paper copy as digital copies aren't accepted. Children under the age of 6 do not require a test for entry.
Grenada
Visitors must present a negative PCR test taken within seven days of travel and proof of a minimum four-day reservation from one of Grenada’s “Pure Safe” hotels or resorts. Visitors are also required to download a mobile contact-tracing app. Visitors must quarantine at their hotel for the first four days of their visit.
Update: Visitors may opt for a PCR test after day four and if negative, may travel across Grenada.

French Polynesia
Canadians seeking an exotic getaway to Tahiti or Bora Bora this winter can make it happen with proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours of their departure and completion of a "sanitary entry form." Visitors to Tahiti will also need to undergo a self-test four days after arrival in French Polynesia.
Jamaica
Entry process: Travelers required to complete online travel authorization from two to five days prior to planned arrival in Jamaica. Approved travelers receive a certificate that must be submitted during airline check-in. Travelers must upload results of a negative COVID-19 test, up to 10 days prior to departure. Visitors are restricted to Jamaica’s “Resilient Corridors” which include 80 percent of tourism sites.
Updates: The Jamaica Cares program, which provides travel protection and emergency services for travelers, takes effect in November. It is mandatory for every non-Jamaican passport holder and costs $40 per person, payable at the time the Travel Authorization is approved.

The Maldives
The inviting Maldives are open to Canadian who can provide proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR test result. Travelers exhibiting coronavirus symptoms upon arrival will undergo an additional PCR test.
Mexico
Americans can currently fly to Mexico without securing proof of a negative COVID-19 test result. However, visitors should expect to be met with health screenings over the course of their travels, including temperature checks.
Panama
Visitors to Panama are required to present a negative COVID-19 PCR or antigen test taken no more than 48 hours prior to their arrival. If the time frame has expired visitors will undergo a rapid test at the airport at a cost of $50. Travelers are also subject to temperature screening upon arrival at the airport.
Puerto Rico
Entry process: Travelers are required to complete an online travel declaration form and obtain an airport exit confirmation number and QR code, provided automatically to applicants who upload proof of a negative COVID-19 test via the portal.
Update: Arriving visitors must quarantine for 14 days at their lodging or the length of the stay, whichever is shorter, or until negative test results are provided.

St Barts
The white-sand paradise of St. Barts sounds awfully inviting this time of year and, fortunately, it's open to Canadians (age 11 and up) who can produce a negative COVID-19 test result taken no more than 72 hours prior to their arrival. Visitors staying longer than seven days will be required to take another PCR test at a cost of about $160.
St Kitts & Nevis
Visitors must complete an entry form and submit a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours of arrival to the destination’s online portal. Travelers must undergo a health screening on arrival and download a contract-tracing app to be used for the first 14 days of travel. Visitors staying fewer than seven days must take a PCR test 72 hours before departing the dual-island nation. Visitors must stay in one of the islands' approved hotels for the first seven days.
Update: Travelers are required to take a PCR test on day seven; if negative, travelers can book select excursions and access select destination sites booked through their approved hotel's tour desk.

Saint Lucia
Visitors are required to provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test performed within seven days of travel and complete a pre-arrival registration form. Passengers will be screened on arrival; symptomatic passengers will be tested and quarantined at their hotel until a result is received. If positive, they will be isolated at one of two hospitals.
Update: Travelers are required to indicate the certified hotel they will occupy during their visit.

Sint Maarten
A health declaration must be uploaded at dual-nation Sint Maarten’s online portal prior to departure. U.S. visitors must submit proof of a negative COVID-19 test result taken within five days of arrival.
Update: Borders between Dutch St. Maarten and French St. Martin have reopened to visitors.

St. Vincent and the Grenadines
Travelers must complete a pre-arrival form and arrive with a negative Covid-19 test administered no more than seven days prior to arrival. Travelers are also required to re-test upon arrival and quarantine for five days in a St. Vincent and the Grenadines Tourism Authority-approved hotel.
Update: Visitors will be re-tested on days four and day five and continue to quarantine for nine to 16 days or until a test result is negative.
Turkey
Canadians do not need a negative COVID-19 test result to enter Turkey at the moment. However, you will need to answer some questions about their health on an information form and be prepared to undergo screening for potential coronavirus symptoms. A COVID-19 test may be required if symptoms are discovered.
Turks & Caicos
International travelers required to obtain certification the “TCI Assured” an online portal after submitting a negative Covid-19 PCR test result taken within five days of travel; proof of travel insurance that covers medical evacuation, costs related to quarantine, ambulance care or care at a local hospital; and a health screening questionnaire.
Update: A TCI Assured certification is issued once documents are uploaded. The certification must be presented at the time of check-in.

U.S. Virgin Islands
Visitors are required to submit a negative Covid-19 test result received within five days of travel to the U.S. Virgin Islands Travel Screening Portal. Upon arrival travelers must submit the test result and certification received from the portal.
Update: The updated online portal incorporates QR and color-coding technology to quickly process and confirm passengers’ submissions. The territory is preparing for a significant flight increase this month.

British Virgin Islands
The British Virgin Islands or simply the "Virgin Islands", part of a volcanic archipelago in the Caribbean, is known for its reef-lined beaches and as a yachting destination. The BVIs, as they are called, are a popular travel destination for sailors, fishermen, sun worshippers, and other independent travellers, albeit not for the cost conscious. French Polynesia
French Polynesia, an overseas collectivity of France, comprises more than 100 islands in the South Pacific, stretching for more than 2,000km. Tahiti, which is located within the Society Islands, is the most populous island and the seat of the capital of the collectivity, Pape'ete. It has more than 68% of the population of the islands in 2012. Although not an integral part of its territory, Clipperton Island was administered from French Polynesia until 2007. Makatea in French Polynesia is one of the three great phosphate rock islands in the Pacific Ocean - the others are Banaba (Ocean Island) in Kiribati and Nauru.
Montego Bay
Montego Bay is the capital of St. James Parish and the second largest city in Jamaica by area and the third by population (after Kingston and Spanish Town). It is a tourist destination with duty free shopping, cruise line terminal and the beaches. The city is backed by picturesque low mountains. Popular beaches include Doctor’s Cave Beach and Walter Fletcher Beach, home to an amusement park. Today, Montego Bay is known for its large regional hospital (Cornwall Regional Hospital), port facilities, second homes for numerous upper class Jamaicans from Kingston as well as North Americans and Europeans, fine restaurants, and shopping opportunities. The coastland near Montego Bay is occupied by numerous tourist resorts, most newly built, some occupying the grounds of old sugarcane plantations with some of the original buildings and mill-works still standing. Grenada
Grenada is an island country consisting of Grenada itself and six smaller islands at the southern end of the Grenadines in the southeastern Caribbean Sea. The islands are of volcanic origin with extremely rich soil. Grenada's interior is very mountainous with Mount St. Catherine being the highest at 840 m (2,760 ft). Several small rivers with beautiful waterfalls flow into the sea from these mountains. It is also known as "Island of Spice" because of the production of nutmeg and mace crops of which it is one of the world's largest exporters.
Barbados
Barbados is an island country in the Lesser Antilles. It is 21 miles in length and as much as 14 miles in width, amounting to 166 square miles. It is situated in the western area of the North Atlantic and 62 miles east of the Windward Islands and the Caribbean Sea therein, it is about 104 miles east of the islands of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, and 250 miles north-east of Trinidad and Tobago. Barbadian traditions range from afternoon tea and cricket (the national sport) to pursuits such as scuba diving at Dottins Reef and golfing on designer oceanside courses.
Dubai
Dubai is the most populous city and is one of the seven emirates of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). It is located south of the Persian Gulf on the Arabian Peninsula and has the largest population with the second-largest land territory by area of all the emirates, after Abu Dhabi. Dubai and Abu Dhabi are the only two emirates to have veto power over critical matters of national importance in the country's legislature. It is rather like an independent city-state and is the most modern and progressive emirate in the UAE, developing at an unbelievable pace in the tourist and trade sectors especially. Recently Dubai won the bid to host EXPO 2020, a Universal scale Registered Exposition approved by the Bureau of International Expositions (BIE), Paris.
Bermuda
Bermuda is a British Overseas Territory in the North Atlantic Ocean, located off the east coast of North America. It is one of the last remains of the once vast British colonial empire in North America. It consists of about 138 islands and islets, with all the major islands aligned on a hook-shaped, but roughly east-west, axis and connected together by road bridges. Despite this complexity, Bermudians usually refer to Bermuda as "the island". Bermuda's pink sand beaches and clear, cerulean blue ocean waters are popular with tourists. Many of Bermuda's hotels are located along the south shore of the island. In addition to its beaches, there are a number of sightseeing attractions. Historic St George's is a designated World Heritage Site. It's most famous visitor attraction is the Royal Naval Dockyard, which includes the Bermuda Maritime Museum. Mexico
Mexico is a land of extremes, with high mountains and deep canyons in the center of the country, sweeping deserts in the north, and dense rain forests in the south and east. It is located between the U.S and Central America. Ancient ruins such as Teotihuacan (Aztec) and Chichen Itza (Mayan) are scattered throughout the country, as are Spanish colonial-era towns. The Bahamas

Aruba

Anguilla
Anguilla, a British overseas territory in the Eastern Caribbean, comprises a small main island and several offshore islets. The name Anguilla is an anglicised or latinate form of earlier Spanish anguila, French anguille, or Italian anguilla, all meaning "eel" in reference to the island's shape. For similar reasons, it was formerly known as Snake or Snake Island. The island is made of limestone, providing many caves. Two of the most impressive being are ''The Big Springs'' located in Island Harbour and ''The Fountain'' located in Shoal Bay. St Kitts and Nevis
Saint Kitts and Nevis are a pair of tropical islands in the Caribbean and the smallest sovereign state in the Americas, in both area and population. The country is a Commonwealth realm, with the British Monarch (currently, Elizabeth II) as its head of state. Saint Kitts and Nevis were among the first islands in the Caribbean to be settled by Europeans. Santo Domingo
Santo Domingo, known officially as Santo Domingo de Guzmán, is the capital and largest city in the Dominican Republic. Its metropolitan population was 2,084,852 in 2003, and estimated at 2,253,437 in 2006. The city is located on the Caribbean Sea, at the mouth of the Ozama River. Founded by Bartholomew Columbus in 1496, it is the oldest continuously inhabited European settlement in the Americas, and was the first seat of Spanish colonial rule in the New World. It lies within the boundaries of the Distrito Nacional (D.N.; "National District"), itself bordered on three sides by Santo Domingo Province.
