Carnival Cruise We’re On Track for a Record Year! - Port Of New Orleans
About New Orleans, Louisiana
Carnival Cruises from New Orleans
As
the number one cruise operator at the Port of New Orleans, we are continuing to
expand our presence at the port and expect to carry a record 400,000 passengers
from the Crescent City this year! Additionally, we predict that next year we
will welcome our three millionth passenger at the Port of New Orleans since
Hurricane Katrina hit in 2005.
We lead the way in offering year-round cruising from New Orleans since 1994 and over the past two-plus decades we have become this port's largest cruise operator with two ships offering your clients more than 125, four- to seven-day departures on an annual basis.
Following Hurricane Katrina, we resumed service in New Orleans in October 2006 - just 14 months after the storm - with one year-round ship, Carnival Fantasy, carrying less than 16,000 passengers that year. Thanks to feedback from you, and your clients increased interest in our sailings from this port, we gradually increased our capacity from the Big Easy deploying newer and larger ships.
Currently, our two New Orleans-based ships include the 3,646-passenger Carnival Dream, offering seven-day Caribbean cruises, and the 2,052-passenger Carnival Elation sailing four- and five-day cruises to Mexico. Capacity will increase by 34 percent when the 2,758-passenger Carnival Triumph replaces Carnival Elation next spring. As a result, we expect to carry a record 450,000 passengers from New Orleans in 2016!
We have a long and deep history with the city of New Orleans and we strive to be a valuable community partner providing strong economic impact and supporting a variety of philanthropic initiatives. We look forward to continuing to grow our operations in New Orleans and providing you with more options
