Barceló Gourmet Festival MEETING PLANNERS MEET Eat, drink, play, work.
As part of the Second Annual “Barceló Gourmet Festival” at the all-inclusive Barceló Maya Grand Resort, some of the top meeting planners from Mexico came together to not only enjoy the food and wine pairings but to demonstrate their skills in the “Barceló Gourmet Golf” tournament, which took place at the Grand Coral Golf Riviera Maya last month.
Those who had never golfed instead took part in Fling Golf, where amateur golfers must swing and practice their approach. This game is an ideal option to include for the companions of those attending a meeting at which a golf tournament is included.
For culinary lovers there was a dinner pairing by Chef Alejandro Sánchez from Andalusia and Sommelier Georgina Estrada.
Gabriela Barbabosa, Groups & Conventions Manager, said in an interview to MDC The Meeting Planner’s Magazine, of the group, “We feel very satisfied by how happy they were during this culinary event. We are sure they loved the Resort and were also surprised about the great response by our guests in attending the event including excellent reviews of our culinary offerings. This event was the first time we had the opportunity to host meeting planners during the “Barceló Gourmet Festival.” Plans are already being thought of for the next festival, as well as hosting another event later in the year.”
Meeting planners will be able to offer their clients more than 64,500 square-feet in different meeting rooms for up to 1,300 people; a wide selection of rooms with two double beds to accommodate groups of 1,500 people; 71 indoor and outdoor meeting space including outdoor space for cocktails and special dinners; Quetzal, is the newest convention hall and exhibition area; and services such as a business center, gourmet cuisine, internet, and entertainment and shows.
The trip was organized by Stefania Ballotta, director of Sales & Marketing, Gabriela Barbabosa, Groups & Conventions manager, Thomas Müller, deputy director of the Maya Complex and Elizabeth Sánchez, sales executive.
