The last frontier
Windstar Cruises announced plans to sail to Alaska in spring/summer 2018, with voyages starting at 11 days. Guests can sail through Misty Fjords National Monument and Kenai Fjords National Park, experiences usually booked via a shore excursion because the “big ships” just don’t go there.
Each Windstar Alaska itinerary includes sailing through Tracy Arm Fjord joined by park rangers, scientists, glaciologists, geologists, and other experts who will be aboard each cruise to provide education, perspective, one-on-one discussions, and ample opportunities for individual discovery in America’s “last frontier.”
Amazon debut for Queen Victoria
On Wednesday Cunard's Queen Victoria, made her maiden voyage through the 'Meeting of Waters,' and became the largest passenger ship to sail the Amazon, sailing between the dark Rio Negro and the pale Amazon River in Manaus, Brazil.
Manaus marks the sixth out of 32 ports on Queen Victoria's 41,000 nautical miles, 120-night World Voyage.
